Speakers will discuss Jon Dennis's Iowa STEM Teacher Externship with Friends of the Family, a nonprofit organization serving victims of homelessness and domestic violence across 25 Iowa counties. The team created AI tools for crisis hotline advocate training, social media content creation, and donor outreach campaigns. They are planning to expand the externship through a partnership with the Waterloo Career Center, creating event support and internship opportunities for students in Information Solutions, Marketing, and other service areas. We hope to demonstrate how these tools can be used, explain how they were developed, and foster a discussion about our partnership.
