About me
My name is Christina, and horticulture is my passion! I have more than 10 years of industry experience, including nursery production work at Bachman's and Bailey nurseries in Minnesota. Today, I am a horticulture instructor at the DMACC Ankeny campus, where I primarily teach horticulture production courses.
Growing up on a crop and livestock farm sparked my interest in agriculture and led me to pursue a career in horticulture and education. I earned my B.S. in Horticulture and Agriculture & Life Sciences Education (teacher certification option) from Iowa State University.
I enjoy helping students connect STEM concepts to real-world applications in agriculture, especially horticulture. Outside of work, I love spending time in nature, whether that's hiking, admiring plants, helping at my parents' farm, or practicing my plant identification skills.
