About me
Dr. Honora Wall has worked as a teacher and private instructor for over 20 years. Her classroom teaching experience includes middle school math, high school math and science courses, and adult education. As a private instructor, she has taught everything from 3rd grade math to college algebra. She has a successful track record of teaching in low SES communities, in afterschool programs, and for GED programs. She is an author, speaker, and curriculum developer for the neurodivergent community.
Honora’s passion is to empower others through math mastery. When people discover their mathematical capabilities, overcome their math struggles, and define themselves as mathematically competent, their lives change. This is the goal that drives her work. Honora is a board member for the Learning Disabilities Association of America, current board president of LDA-Iowa, and is a longtime member of the Association of Teacher Educators. In 2022, Dr. Wall founded the Dyscalculia Training & Research Institute, a 501©3 dedicated to raising awareness and changing the lived experience of people with dyscalculia. In this role she works with state departments of education, schools, and teacher unions to shine a spotlight on the math learning disability.
Honora has a B.S. in Business Marketing from Colorado Technical University, an M.A. in Applied Learning and Instruction from the University of Central Florida, and earned her Ed.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from Concordia University Chicago. She defended her dissertation, titled “The Efficacy of Test Accommodations for Students with Dyscalculia”, in 2022. She is the author of six books currently available in bookstores and on Amazon; speaks regularly at regional and national conferences; and maintains partnerships with schools in multiple states.
